By Breaking Belize News Staff: San Ignacio Police are investigating an aggravated burglary that took place in San Antonio Village, Cayo District on Friday, where retired American Dave Adams, his wife Kelly Adams, and their friend Amanda Hanson were held at gunpoint by four Hispanic men.
According to Dave Adams, the incident occurred around 9:30 pm when the four men, wearing shirts to cover their faces, entered the garage and demanded that all three individuals lay down on the floor. The men attempted to tie Dave Adams’ hands, but he faked a heart attack, causing the assailants to take all three individuals in their red Mahindra pickup truck to the village clinic.
At the clinic, the assailants jumped off the vehicle and fled, stealing a 12-gauge shotgun, assorted jewelry valued at approximately US$10,000, a laptop, an undisclosed amount of money in Belize and U.S. currency, and two Samsung cell phones. Fortunately, no one was injured during the incident.
San Ignacio Police are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward and assist with their investigation, which continues.
