Women’s Month highlight: Fidy Osgalla~ 17 years voluntary service as a Special Constable in Cayo

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: In celebrating women’s month, around the country, outstanding Belizean women are being highlighted for their dedication and commitment to Belize’s growth and development.

Fidencia ‘Fidy’ Osgalla is one of those women who has dedicated 17 years of voluntary service to the Belize Police Department as a Volunteer Special Constable.

Osgalla has served on the board of the Cayo Special Constables committee as Treasurer and continues to be instrumental in encouraging other women leading the charge to serve and protect our community.

Presently, Osgalla is the only woman Special Constable employed by the San Ignacio and Santa Elena Town Council at the San Ignacio market.

‘Fidy’ is known for making her voice heard and making her mark in the community and Belize with her prompt willingness to assist the police.
