March 8 was international women’s day.

The month is being celebrated under the theme “Embrace Equity” and is an opportunity to highlight the resilience and unsurmountable contributions by Belizean women to the growth and development of our nation.

The Belize City Council announced that it is lighting up purple in honor of women’s month.
