By Breaking Belize News Staff: Forty-seven-year-old Roberto Teck could face criminal charges in connection with a traffic accident on Saturday, March 11, that claimed the life of 52-year-old motorcyclist Gilberto Carrias Tolico.

The head-on collision between the motorcycle and the Chevy Tracker happened between San Victor and San Narciso Village in the Corozal District, and caused severe head and body injuries to Tolico who died on the spot.

Head of Communications for the Office of the Commissioner of Police, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Fitzroy Yearwood, said today that investigators have made sketch plans of the incident and have produced a preliminary report, though investigations are ongoing.

“Investigators indicated that the motorbike is believed to have crossed into the lane of the tracker,” Yearwood said.

Tolico’s body is at the Corozal Community Hospital pending a post-mortem examination, while Teck was taken into custody by Corozal police and served with a notice of intended prosecution.
