San Antonio Village to host Grand Farmers Day 2023

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Villagers in San Antonio, Cayo are preparing to host their Grand Farmers day 2023 on March 16, 2023.

The Farmers Day will be held to display produce and products made in San Antonio Village.

The village, located in the Maya Mountains of the Cayo District is known predominantly for farming and producing plantains, tomatoes, cabbage, carrots, potatoes, peanuts, hicama, sweet potatoes and more.

San Antonio Village is also home to Belize’s famous Oxmul Coffee.

Chairman Aron Tzib invites everyone to join in celebrating the farmers of San Antonio and supporting them.

In addition, the village council will inaugurate their art mural painting at the park that depicts their Maya heritage and their bread basket~ a farming community.
