In 2009, Hyde decided to further her education and enrolled at the University of Belize and attained a Bachelor’s Degree in Primary Education (Magna Cum Laude).

In 2012, Hyde became a Special Education Officer with the then NaRCIE Unit(Now the SpED Unit) and continues to serve in that capacity.

“Each child I have met, each family I worked with, each teacher I have helped, I encourage to embrace and become passionate about Special Education, Inclusivity. I have seen and felt the impact this nurturing has on an individual’s life, and that is what motivates me to get up daily, continue my advocacy for our children with special needs,” she added.

Then in 2018, Hyde completed her Master’s Degree in Education (with concentrating in Special Education and Leadership) from the Bridgewater State University.

Her most recent achievement includes the opening of the Special Education Classroom at Mount Carmel Primary School.

“I am thankful that God has given me the health, strength to have pursued and received opened the doors needed to make this project a success,” Hyde stated.

Hyde says that she believes that we must “Live today as if it is the last day because tomorrow is promised to no one.
