By Breaking Belize News Staff: Celestino and Albert Zetina, charged with assaulting a police officer, were almost charged again for the same offense when they started behaving disruptively in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court this week.
The brothers appeared unrepresented in court on Wednesday, to learn that their case would have to be adjourned because the prosecutor was out sick.
Both men, who are already on remand at the Belize Central Prison on a separate matter, began shouting and refused to go back into lockdown, prompting police to subdue them.
Their case has been rescheduled to April 20.
They had been granted bail in the sum of $1,000 in the first instance, but later violated their bail conditions by being charged for possession of a controlled drug and sent to jail.
