By Breaking Belize News Staff: Today, 18-year-old Bevan Alford appeared in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court charged with the murder of 21-year-old Freddy Chicas.

Alford, a resident of Lord’s Bank, appeared unrepresented before Chief Magistrate Sharon Fraser.

No plea was taken and he was remanded to the Belize Central Prison until May 17.

Freddy Chicas was reported missing on March 9, and his decomposing body was recovered in the 8 miles community on the George Price Highway on March 10.

Alford was formally arrested and charged by police on Thursday, March 16.
