San Pedro Pirates-Internacional cancelled, Premier League of Belize will only have 3 matches on Sunday

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: With the Saturday night match between the San Pedro Pirates and Belmopan’s Internacional cancelled because Internacional cannot field a team, the Premier League of Belize will only have three matches this weekend and all will be played on Sunday.

The main game is the grudge match between Port Layola and Verdes at 4:00 pm at the Marion Jones Sporting Complex in Belize City. Port have been calling out Verdes and the PLB since then and are all on fire waiting for tomorrow’s game. Verdes,

Port lost three points despite beating Verdes 2-1 in Cayo on Sunday, January 29 for fielding ineligible Argentine player Jonathan Moschini.

Fourth place Progresso host sixth place Benque Viejo United at the People’s Stadium in Orange Walk Town at 3:30 pm. Both have been playing competitive and exciting football lately, so the game promises to be high octane.

And then, there’s the Southern Derby between Wagiya and champions Altitude in Dangriga. Though both have been suffering lately, a derby is a derby and the Carl Ramos Stadium will be all lit up on Sunday at 4:00 pm.
