Man dies after vehicle tire blows out in single-car crash on Hummingbird Highway

By Aaron Humes: Giovanni Larios of Valley of Peace, Cayo District, died this evening after a traffic accident apparently caused by a tire blowout.

According to Police, Edwin Otero was driving his Isuzu Amigo and accompanied by Xander Galdamez, Eliana Otero, Dania Otero, Elsa Figueroa, Antonio Galdamez, Felipe Galdamez, Diane Galdamez and Giovanni Larios. Whilst he was travelling from the direction of Dangriga to Belmopan and upon reaching between miles 27 and 28 on the Hummingbird Highway, he received a blowout from the right front tire causing him to lose control of his vehicle, where he collided into the guard rail and several persons from inside the vehicle were ejected.

The body of Giovanni Larios was taken to the Western Regional Hospital and was pronounced dead.

Investigations continue by Police from Dangriga.
