Altitude rip Wagiya 5-0 in Dangriga in Premier League of Belize

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Altitude ripped Wagiya apart thrashing them 5-0 in the Southern Derby at the Carl Ramos Stadium in Dangriga in Premier League of Belize on Sunday.

Altitude’s first goal came off an own goal by Vincent Melendez in the 19’. Then Ashley ‘Tosa’ Torres got busy nailing in the second in the 32’. Miguel Garcia made it 3-0 in the 39”.

Torres completed his brace in the 72’ before Kanye Leslie nailed the fifth in the 82’.

A 5-0 blast which keeps Altitude within striking distance of the leaders with four games to go. With 15 points, Altitude can still make the playoffs but what’s more important, it puts them ahead of Verdes in the Concacaf cumulative table with 47 points. That’s two more than Verdes and though the Verdes’ game against Port was suspended with score 0-0 at the half, the fact is Altitude have their points in the bag already.

As for Wagiya, nothing seems to work. They have only been able to earn three points in ten games. Not what they nor anyone else had anticipated.

In other games, Progresso beat Benque 3-0 in Orange Walk and the Port-Verdes match was stopped short by a torrential rain at the half with the score 0-0 in Belize City. The San Pedro Pirates-Internacional match was called off on Saturday morning since Internacional couldn’t field a team to travel to San Pedro.
