Arenal Village resident fined over $300 for 0.3 grams of crack cocaine

By Breaking Belize News Staff: An Arenal villager was fined in court today after being found with crack cocaine during a police search.

Yhony Cibrian appeared in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court today where he was charged with a single count of possession of controlled drugs in relation to 0.3 grams of crack.

He pleaded guilty to the offense and the Senior Magistrate fined him $300 plus $5 cost of court.

He was given until May 3 to pay or he will spend three months in jail for defaulting.

Police found the drugs on him during a stop and search carried out on Friday, March 17.
