San Pedro Pirates’ Andir Chi replaces injured Nahjib Guerra in Belize Men’s National Team for games against Guatemala, Dominican Republic

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: San Pedro Pirates’ Andir Chi scored three goals on Tuesday night against the Belize Men’s National Team (BMNT) in their 3-3 draw against a combined San Pedro-Verdes side and has now been called to join them for their Concacaf Nations League (CNL) games against Guatemala and the Dominican Republic.

Chi is replacing Benque Viejo United’s Nahjib Guerra who suffered an injury earlier.

Chi’s performance on Tuesday was nothing short of spectacular and Spanish coach David Pérez couldn’t but call him up. Chi has been having a good season with the San Pedro Pirates. With Chi’s call-up, the Pirates now have four players in the BMNT. He joins his teammates Asrel Sutherland, Moises Hernandez, and Horace Avila Jr.

Benque Viejo United now don’t have any player in the BMNT.
Only Verdes with six, have more players in the BMNT. Port Layola and Progresso have two each and are the only other clubs with more than one player on the national side.

The BMNT is to play the Guatemala at 8:00 pm on Friday at the FFB Stadium in Belmopan and the Dominican Republic in Santo Domingo on Tuesday in the CNL B’s Group D.
