By Benjamin Flowers: The Government of Belize announced today that the cost of Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) [Butane] will be going down as of tomorrow.

A notice issued by the Supplies Control Unit (SCU) in the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security, and Enterprise this evening says that, as of Friday, March 24, 2023, the wholesale price per gallon in each district will be $3.85, the retail price per pound in urban areas will be $1.25 and the retail price per gallon in urban areas will be $5.45.

Meanwhile, the retail price per pound in rural areas will be $1.27 and the retail price per gallon in rural areas will be $5.55.

“These prices reflect a decrease of BZ$0.25 per gallon for the current shipment resulting primarily from a decrease in the acquisition price of both butane and propane,” the SCU explained.
