Contributed by Cristina Fabro: How do I really feel? I feel devastated. I feel broken-hearted. I’m still in shock and disbelief. It’s a hard pill to swallow.

I’ve cried so much thinking of all the things we have lost that we have worked so hard, for years, to acquire. Every single thing I invested in, gone in the blink of an eye with the burning down of my classroom and school.

But I also cry for my students. Students that I know will be greatly affected because they won’t be able to go to school to benefit from face to face learning. Students that have been out of school for so long with Covid and now this.

I know we will overcome this with time but for now its just a sad reality.

Thanks to everyone who reached out. I really appreciate it.

NB. Cristina Fabro is a teacher at St. Matthews Government Primary School.
