By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Belize battle Guatemala tonight at the FFB Stadium in Belmopan in the Concacaf Nations League B.

Belize has never beaten Guatemala in eight matches since 2007. The best Belize scores have been two 0-0 draws in 2013.

At this point, after both teams trained last night at the FFB Stadium prior to tonight’s game there at 8:00 pm, both are hyped up for the match.

The Football Federation of Belize said late Thursday that only a few tickets are left for the Belize-Guatemala Concacaf game slated for 8:00 pm on Friday.

“There is a limited amount still available at the National Bank of Belize Ltd. We will also have a very limited amount available at the FFB headquarters [Friday] morning at 10 am. Get them while you can….the biggest game of the year!!”

The FFB said the FFB Stadium holds 3,500 seating fans. So, get those tickets now as over 500 Guatemalans are expected for the match. That means today is going to be very busy at the Belize-Guatemala border.

If you make it to the game, make sure you’re rally behind the Belize Men’s National Team (BMNT), who we like to call the Belize Jaguars, as they need the Belizean fans to be vocal non-stop for 90 minutes and more.

Belize may have never beaten Guatemala, but tonight the BMNT needs all the support they can get as a loss would mean they will drop to the Concacaf league C. A win gives them another shot at staying in League B should they beat the Dominican Republic on Tuesday in Santo Domingo.
