By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Belize face Guatemala on Friday night at the FFB Stadium in Belmopan in the Concacaf Nations League B. Belizeans are anticipating a good performance by the Belize Men’s National Team (BMNT) and Belize’s ex-captain Deon McCaulay is no exception.
“BEST OF LUCK IN THE GAME TONIGHT BOYS,”
McCaulay wrote in a post on Facebook.
“GO OUT THERE AND GIVE EVERYTHING FOR YOURSELVES, YOUR FAMILY AND THE ENTIRE COUNTRY!!”
McCaulay
made 63 appearances for Belize from 2007 to 2022 scoring 28 goals for the BMNT. Participating for Belize in four World Cup qualifiers (2010, 2014, 2028, 2022), McCaulay tied with Uruguay’s Luis Suárez and the Netherlands’ Robin van Persie as the top world goalscorer in 2014 FIFA World Cup qualification campaign. The three scored 11 goals each.
