By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Today, Taiwan Ambassador Lily Li-Wen Hsu met with Oscar Requena, Minister of Rural Transformation, Community Development, Labour, and Local Government and CEO Valentino Shal to discuss Belize and Taiwan’s continued collaboration.

Ambassador Hsu commended the people-centered approach to leadership that both countries share, which is why education, culture, sustainable community development, and agriculture are prioritized by both countries.

Minister Requena expressed gratitude for the friendly visit and expressed hope for more bilateral cooperation between the two countries, particularly in areas relating to rural economic empowerment, community development, and other sustainable development strategies.

Ambassador Hsu and Minister Requena emphasized the importance of strongly maintaining, safeguarding, and solidifying the bilateral ties that exist, which are based on the fundamental principles of respect, mutual benefit, and people-to-people diplomacy.
