Posted: Saturday, March 25, 2023. 9:18 pm CST.

By Aaron Humes: A Belize City man, according to Police, was caught up in an on-court brawl during a basketball tournament at the court on the compound of St. John’s Anglican Primary School on Euphrates Avenue this afternoon.

Police say 23-year-old Jason Flowers of Neal Pen Road was trying to get out of the compound after the fight among players and fans of both teams broke out around 4:30 p.m. this afternoon. He was walking through the crowd when he was apparently stabbed in the left lower abdomen by a person or persons unknown. He did not realize he had been wounded until he made it to the bridge at East Canal.

Flowers is stable at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital after undergoing treatment and police investigations continue.
