Homeless man fined over $200 for pipe used to smoke crack

By Breaking Belize News Staff: A man with no fixed home address was fined over $200 in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court for having a 6-centimeter pipe modified for the purpose of smoking crack cocaine.

Thirty-nine-year-old Kenrick Hendricks appeared unrepresented in court on Friday charged with a single count of possession of a pipe, to which he immediately pleaded guilty.

The Magistrate took into consideration that Hendricks is a first offender and fined him $200 plus $5 cost of court which he must, despite being homeless, find a way to pay by May 23 or he will spend two months in prison.

Police found the pipe on him during a search on Thursday, March 24.
