By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Dominican Republic lead Belize 1-0 in the Concacaf Nations League match in the Dominican Republic after the first half.

Belize started pushing forward but the Dominican Republic levelled the match after ten minutes and jumped ahead in the 13’.

Edarlyn Reyes unleashed a low grass burner that went from left to right between the legs of Asrel Sutherland and beyond Charles Tillett’s reach.

The Dominicans had more breaks during the first half forcing goalkeeper Tillett and the defensive line to work extra hard to keep them at bay after the initial goal.

Belize are fortunate that the new Concacaf League format cut relegation from League B so despite finishing last in the group the Belize Men’s National team (BMNT) will remain in League H for the next championship.

Coach Perez made two changes to the lineup after the Guatemala match bringing in Donell Arzu for Kyle Flowers in defense and Horace Avila for Jovaunn Ramos in the midfield, but the BMNT has been rather ineffective against the homeside.

The BMNT conceded another goal in the 39^th but the strike was ruled offside.

The match started at 4:00 pm (6:00 Dominican Republic Time) at the Estadio Panamericano in San Cristóbal outside Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic.
