International News: Taiwan says no signs of military deployment by China before U.S. trip

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: A deputy Taiwanese defence minister noted that at this time, there are no signs of unusual military deployment by China’s military, Reuters report.

Taiwan’s President Tsai Ing-wen is scheduled to visit the United States on March 29, 2023.

President Tsai will stop over in the U.S. on her way to visit Belize and Guatemala.

There have been heightened tensions between Taiwan and China since China views Taiwan as its territory and has long vowed to “reunify” the self-governing democratic island.
