By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Western Ballaz dropped the Punta Gorda Panthers 95-85 at the Punta Gorda Sporting Complex on Saturday night in the Belize Elite Basketball League.

The win was the Western Ballaz third against five defeats while the homestanding Panthers fell to a 1-7 record. The Ballaz are in sixth place while PG remain in the eighth and last position.

Mark Gordon led the visitors with 28 points, 7 rebounds, 9 assists, 1 steal, and 1 block. Richard Smith III was next with 23 points, 14 rebounds, 1 assist and 4 blocks.

Darnell Oden contributed 17 points and 7 rebounds and Justin Ford added 10 points.

For the Panthers, Davis Tavian scored a game-high 39 points, pulled 7 rebounds, made 3 assists, and managed 2 steals. Julien Travis totalled 16 points, 10 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, and 1 block, while Marquies Williams accounted for 11 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1 steal.
