Man charged with threatening to kill his common-law-wife over allegations of unfaithfulness

By Breaking Belize News Staff: A Lord’s Bank man was fined in court this week for threatening to kill his common-law-wife, alleging that she has been unfaithful.

Thirty-three-year-old Karl Lambey appeared in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court on Monday, charged with a single count of threatening words, and immediately pleaded guilty.

His exact words to the Magistrate were “I mih deh tek wah lee 1-2 and I mih high. I am sorry for what I did. ”

Lambey was fined $150 plus $5 cost of court which must be paid by May 19 or he will spend a month in prison for default.

The victim reported to police that on Saturday, March 25, Lambey said to her that he would slap her and accused her of going to meet a man. She said that Lambey threatened to shoot her and the man he alleged she was meeting with and in fear for her life she made a police report, requesting court action.
