Orange Walk Running Rebels’ 6-game winning streak propels them to top spot in Belize Elite Basketball League

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Belize teams were favoured to lead the Belize Elite Basketball League, but of late it’s been the district sides that have been in control. First, it was Griga Dream Ballers, and now the Orange Walk Running Rebels are at the top of the BEBL, though, it must be pointed out, that the Benny’s Belize Hurricanes have the best record at 6-2.

Propelling themselves by their six-game winning streak the Northern team now find themselves at the top sharing the win-loss record with the Griga Dream Ballers whom they defeated on the weekend cutting their winning streak at five. Both the Orange Walk Running Rebels and the Griga Dream Ballers sport a 6-3 record and 15 points.

They are followed by the Digi Belize City defenders (5-4) and the Hurricanes (6-2) with 14 points.

The Belmopan Red Taigaz and the Western Ballaz are next in fifth and sixth respectively with a 3-5 record and 11 points.

The San Pedro Tiger Sharks are in seventh place with a 3-4 win-loss record and ten points.

The Punta Gorda Panthers bring up the rear with a 1-7 record and nine points.
