San Pedro Public Transport Company Ltd abandons transportation project due to lack of government support

By Breaking Belize News Staff: San Pedro Public Transport Company Ltd announced today that they are officially withdrawing from their highly anticipated transportation project, citing a lack of government support as the primary reason for this decision. The company expressed deep disappointment at the government’s apparent lack of interest in partnering on the proposal, which aimed to provide a valuable service to the local community.

The project was designed to benefit a wide range of residents, including schoolchildren, the elderly, disabled individuals, families, and working citizens. The company had even pledged to fund the operation themselves and donate all profits to local non-profit organizations, further highlighting their commitment to the community.

We reached out to Minister of Transport Rodwell Ferguson for comments on the matter, but he was unavailable at the time.

Despite their strong belief in the potential of the project, San Pedro Public Transport Company Ltd has reluctantly withdrawn the proposal due to the lack of response from government authorities. The company hopes that its transportation proposal may still come to fruition in the future, providing much-needed services to the community.

In the meantime, the company will shift its focus to other projects aimed at supporting the local community in more immediate ways.
