Youth attacked from behind and stabbed in Lake Independence overnight

By Aaron Humes: 18-year-old Jermaine Rodriguez of Maskall Village, Belize District, is hospitalized after being attacked from behind Wednesday night on Holy Emmanuel Street in the Lake Independence area.

Rodriguez told Police that at about 8:10 p.m., while walking on Holy Emmanuel Street towards the Charles Bartlett Hyde Administration Complex building, he was attacked from behind by two men and he fell to the ground. While on the ground, one of the men kicked him in the face and the other person stabbed him, but he was unable to recognize his attackers.

Jermaine Rodriguez is currently under observation at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital in stable condition. Police investigation continues.
