Cancer warrior Aura Rivero needs your help to stay in the fight

By Benjamin Flowers: The family of 15-year-old Aura Rivero is appealing to the public for assistance to help her in her battle against cancer.

Aura’s sister Seleny Lopez told Breaking Belize News that just last week Aura began feeling pain in her hands so she was taken to the doctor for assessment. What presented as an infection at first turned out to be Leukemia, a broad term for a group of cancers relating to the blood.

While devastated by the news, the family has resolved to take Aura to Chetumal to get her the treatment she needs to help her win the fight, so she can get back to singing and dancing and enjoying her life.

“We can’t just give up on her, we have to fight,” Lopez said. “And we tell her. We talk to her and tell her ‘you’re a strong girl, you can’t give up on yourself.'”
