Galen University to break ground for new STEM Program

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Today, Galen University is hosting an exciting and informative Eagle Day 2023.

Each faculty has their own booth showcasing their programs and student clubs and activities.

Provost, Dr. Cynthia Aird announced that in the coming weeks, Galen University will break ground for its STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) program.

Dr. Aird noted that the program will be known as GRAIL, the Galen Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Learning lab.

In addition, Dr. Aird shared that Dr. Dorian Barrow is collaborating with STEM teachers from the University of Brooklyn on teacher education development.

The lead instructor is renowned innovator Dr. Noemi Waight, a professor at the University of Buffalo, who hails from Santa Elena, Cayo.

Dr. Aird says that on March 30, 2023, she observed an interactive session with professors from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Itz’at STEAM academy where they were engaging the tertiary education community and about the kinds of jobs and program that they could prepare students for.

After discussions and preparations, Galen University is now moving ahead with their own STEM program.

Prospective students with aspirations for jobs within STEM industries are encouraged to enroll in these programs at Galen University.
