Taiwan’s President arrives in Guatemala forging deeper ties with Central American allies

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: President of Taiwan, Tsai Ing-wen has just arrived in Guatemala.

President Tsai is visiting Guatemala and Belize, 2 of its Central American allies on a “Meeting Democratic Partners, Fostering Shared Prosperity” tour.

Guatemalan Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mario Bucaro welcomed President Tsai to Guatemala.

President Tsai will meet with Guatemalan President Alejandro Giammattei and members of parliament.

President Tsai was also warmly welcomed at the airport in Guatemala by members of the Taiwanese community proudly waving their flags.

President Tsai will arrive in Belize on Sunday, April 2, 2023.
