9 teams compete in 2023 Men’s National Volleyball Championship at SCA Mercy Center this weekend

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Nine teams are competing in the 2023 Men’s National Volleyball Championship on Saturday and Sunday, April 1-2, at the Saint Catherine Academy Mercy Center in Belize city.

The two-day tournament, organized by the Belize Volleyball Association, features three pools of three teams. The three pools will play round robins after which the teams will be ranked according to their record. The top eight advance to the playoffs. (See schedule at bottom of story.)

Pool A: EA Warriors, T-Sharp, Alpha Warriors

Pool B: Toledo Assassins, HRCU Eagles, WA Jr. Warriors

Pool C: SE Jaguars, Rednex, SC Cobras

All pool matches plus the first round of the ranking get played on Saturday. The remainder of games on Sunday starting at 8:30 am.

The award ceremony is planned for 4:30 pm on Sunday.

Entrance fee is $5 for adults and $3 for kids.

Last weekend, the SQ Mega Stars won the National Women’s Volleyball Championship 2-0 (25-11, 25-9) over the Lady Jaguars at the Belize City Civic Center.
