San Pedro Pirates draw 2-2 with Altitude, retain Premier League of Belize top spot

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: San Pedro Pirates had to make a double-comeback effort at home at Ambergris Stadium to pull off a 2-2 draw against Champions Altitude as Week 11 in Premier League of Belize kicked off on Saturday, April 1.

Kyle Flowers opened the score in the 23’ minute for the visiting Southerners, but Andir Chi tied it off in the 48’.

Altitude retook the lead in the 71’ off a goal by Brazilian Aloisio Teixeira. And again, it was Andir Chi who responded in the 75’.

The 2-2 draw moved the San Pedro Pirates to 22 points, one more than Verdes who came up with a 4-0 thrashing of Wagiya.

Altitude now stand at 16 and are still in fifth place, remaining in the hunt for a playoff spot.
