By Breaking Belize News: Former Special Constable Jeremy Bermudez, who was charged with eight counts of unlawful sexual intercourse with a 13-year-old girl, was convicted today of five counts.
Bermudez appeared in the High Court of Belize today before Justice Antoinette Moore. Justice Moore reserved sentencing until April 18.
Bermudez was charged with eight counts of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor, which occurred for a one year period until the minor was 15 in 2019. At his trial, the minor testified that Bermudez had sexual intercourse with her eight times between the period of May 3, 2018, when the minor was 13- year-old until December 13, 2019, when she was 14.
Bermudez’s case concluded on Tuesday, March 28.
