Belize Tourism Board donates communication system to BDF

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Recently, the Minister of Tourism and Diaspora Relations, Anthony Mahler, handed over a full communication system to the Belize Defence Force.

The system is valued at approximately $12,000. It includes 3 sets of radio devices, connector cables, antennas, power supply, batteries, and a solar panel system.

The items were received by Brigadier General Azariel Loria.

The communication system will enhance security near key tourism sites.

 The Belize Tourism Board noted that the donation is part of the work being done by the newly formed Tourism Security Task Force, which aims to ensure the safety of visitors and service providers at tourist attractions.

The Belize Tourism Board has also previously supported the BDF with power supply equipment and a patrol vehicle.
