Over $39,000 stolen from Dangriga Treasury Department office

By Breaking Belize News Staff: There was a burglary at the Treasury Department’s Dangriga branch last week, where over $39,000 was stolen.

Reports are that between the night of Thursday, March 30 and the morning of Friday, March 31, two men broke into the building by prying off the burglar bars of the bathroom window.

The men ransacked the offices and broke into a safe inside the building’s store room and made off with $39,157 in different denominations.

They then escaped through a backdoor of the building which was facing Pollack Street.

Police are investigating.
