Thousands join hands to worship God in massive Gospel concert in Belize City

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: The Belize City Council and Mayor Bernard Wagner hosted a 2-day Holy Week revival event on April 4 and 5, 2023 at the Digi Park in Belize City.

The Holy Week Revival featured performances by renowned worshippers, Mervin Budram and Sinach.

Last night, thousands gathered, sang, worship and rejoiced in the Lord at the event.

Master of Ceremonies, Pastor Louis Wade Jr. shared the history and significance of Passover and celebrating that Jesus is alive.

Mayor Wagner said that after the COVID-19 pandemic and the effects of Hurricane Lisa, the council saw the need to have an event that lifts faith and is a family event where people can worship God together and thank Him for bringing us and our country through all these challenges.

Minister of Public Service, Constitutional and Political reform and Religious Affairs, Henry Charles Usher also reiterated that Belize is a Christian nation.

“God is good, all the time. Amen. I haven’t seen a crowd this big ever before. We are a Christian nation. We are God fearing people and we love each other,” Charles-Usher said.

Thousands of believers sang along with Sinach as she performed hits such as “Waymaker, I know who I am and “The name of Jesus”.

Attendees flooded social media with pictures and videos of the inspirational event with the hashtag, #HolyWeekRevival.
