Black Orchid Resort loses boat engine to thieves

By Aaron Humes: Police are investigating the theft of a boat engine belonging to Black Orchid Resort in Burrell Boom village, Belize District.

Burrell Boom resident and tour guide and caretaker for the Resort, Edmund Dawson, reported to police that the theft took place between 11 p.m. on April 1 and 6:45 a.m. on April 2.

The 25-horsepower Mercury engine was stolen from a dark green 16-foot aluminium boat owned by the resort owner and valued at $7,000.

A suspect has been identified and police investigations continue.
