By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Today, several organizations, including the Rotary Club of San Ignacio and the Interact Club of Sacred Heart College, made history by creating the first-ever sawdust tapestries in San Ignacio and Santa Elena.
The tapestries were created on Far West St, at Sacred Heart Church, and in Santa Elena. Volunteers began working on the alfombras at 5 am, preparing them for the procession.
The San Ignacio and Santa Elena Town Council expressed their heartfelt appreciation to everyone who participated and volunteered their time: “You guys are awesome, making our Twin Towns look beautiful this Good Friday 2023.”
