Stann Creek man detained for throwing pint bottle at unmarked police vehicle

By Breaking Belize News Staff: A Stann Creek man has been detained after he allegedly threw a pint bottle at an unmarked police vehicle that was passing by on the Southern Highway at approximately 7 p.m. on Holy Thursday night.

Police sergeant Feliz Garcia, attached to the Intermediate Southern Formation, reported that he was driving an unmarked 2010 black Toyota Hilux, property of the Government of Belize, in the direction from Independence Village to Punta Gorda town. When he reached around mile 60, according to Garcia, he saw two men on the highway, one of whom launched a pint bottle at the truck.

The truck reportedly sustained damage to the right rear door. The man who threw the bottle has since been detained pending charges.
