Belize’s Demetrie Meyers wins gold medal in CARIFTA Games Under-17 1500 meter race

By Benjamin Flowers: Belize’s Demetrie Meyers gave a stellar performance at the 50th Caribbean Free Trade Association (CARIFTA) Games held in Nassau, the Bahamas this weekend.

Meyers dominated the Under-17 1,500-meter race, securing a gold medal for the event.

“It was never a contest,” the announcers said of Meyers’s victory, stressing how he controlled the race for almost the entire event.

Meyers finished the event with a completion time of 4:11:19.
