Homeowner killed during Cayo home invasion, culprits get into shootout with police

By Breaking Belize News Staff: Police are currently on a manhunt for a suspect involved in a fatal home invasion this morning in the Cayo District this morning.

According to police reports, shortly after 11:00 a.m., officers responded to a call of an aggravated burglary in progress, and when cops arrived, officers found the homeowner dead and two culprits still inside the house.

The culprits and police ended up in a shootout where one officer was shot, and the officers managed to shoot one of the culprits.

The other culprit escaped, and police are searching for him.
