Farmers from Belize, Toledo, and Corozal Districts win Farmer of the Year 2023 Competition

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Farmers from the Belize, Toledo, and Corozal Districts win the Farmer of the Year 2023 Competition as announced on Tuesday by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security, and Enterprise’s National Agriculture and Trade Show (NATS) Committee.

NATS said the Senior Farmer of the Year is Adrian Bartley from the Belize District, the Woman Farmer of the Year is Esmeralda Stanley from the Toledo District, and the Junior Farmer of the Year is Axel Perez from the Corozal District.

“The committee would like to congratulate all winners for their hard work and dedication in ensuring the sector remains vibrant and valuable to Belize’s resilience to climate change and economic shocks, and thanks the judges who traveled all over the country to carry out the adjudication,” NATS said in a press release.

“The committee would also like to recognize all competitors and farmers in general for their contributions to the livelihood and well-being of the economy of a jewel Belize.”

The NATS Committee reminds all that the National Agricultural and Trade Show 2023 is set for April 28-30 in Belmopan. The Show will be held under the theme Innovations in ‘Technology: Driving a Climate Resilient and Competitive Agriculture and Food Sector’.
