International News: Brazil’s President Lula plans to invite China’s Xi to Brazil

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: On Monday, Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva said that he planned to invite China’s President, Xi Jinping to Brazil, Reuters report.

The announcement comes at the heels of Lula’s trip to China to strengthen relations between Brazil and China.

“I am going to invite Xi Jinping to come to Brazil, for a bilateral meeting, to get to know Brazil, to show him the projects that we have of interest for Chinese investment,” Lula stated.

“What we want is for the Chinese to make investments to generate new jobs and generate new productive assets in Brazil,” Lula added.

Lula is scheduled to meet with Xi and Chinese Prime Minister Li Qiang in China.
