Police charge driver Emerson Garcia in fatal collision with Ari Vanzie

By Aaron Humes: Police have formally arrested and charged Emerson Estuardo Garcia for the crimes of manslaughter by negligence, causing death by careless conduct, driving a motor vehicle without due care and attention, and failing to give way when changing direction.

On March 24, 49-year-old Ari Vanzie was riding his motorcycle on Forest Drive near the Police Training Academy when a vehicle made an illegal left turn into his lane and they collided, costing him his life.

Surveillance video of the scene shows the vehicle starting to turn moments before Vanzie’s motorcycle collided into its side.
