By Aaron Humes: The Belize Police Department and the Minister of Home Affairs Kareem Musa have announced, “with profound sadness and sympathy,” “the untimely passing of our dear brother, colleague, and friend, Fitzroy Addison Yearwood, Assistant Superintendent of Police,” at the age of 47.
ASP Yearwood, who died following complications from a stroke on Tuesday afternoon, was most recently Communications Director for the Department and the face of weekly press briefings and activities hosted by the Department for the past three years of a lengthy career in the force.
The Department states: “Fitz will be remembered for his jovial ways. For always joking and trying to make those around him happy. … You have left us suddenly, Fitz, but your dedication to the Government of Belize, the Belize Police Department, and the people of Belize will never be forgotten…sleep on Fitz for we will all meet again one day.”
We join all who knew him in extending condolences and wishes for his eternal rest.
