Belize Weather: Warm and dry weekend

By Breaking Belize News Staff: According to the National Meteorological Service, seasonably warm and dry conditions prevail. The 24-hour forecast is for mostly sunny and hazy skies today and partly cloudy skies tonight. Little or no rain will occur, and temperatures will be hot.

High temperatures range from 89 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast to 97 degrees over inland areas and 84 degrees in the hills. Tonight, temperatures fall to 80 degrees along the coast, 70 degrees inland and 66 degrees in the hills. A heat alert is in effect: residents, especially those inland, are advised to stay hydrated and avoid outdoor activity as much as possible, especially this afternoon.

Winds are easterly to southeasterly at 10 to 20 knots. The sea state is moderate.

Tides will be low at 11:58 this morning and high at 6:19 this evening. The sun sets at 6:09 this evening and rises at 5:36 Sunday morning.

Expect continuing mainly fair and warm weather on Sunday, with isolated shower activity Sunday night.
