By Breaking Belize News Staff: A Belize City man was remanded to prison today over guns and ammunition charges.
Twenty-year-old Kamaron Williams appeared in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court charged with one count of kept unlicensed firearm and one count of kept unlicensed ammunition in relation to a black .9 mm pistol with two live rounds of ammunition that was allegedly found in his possession.
Initially, he pleaded guilty and asked the court to show mercy and grant him a fine, but when the Magistrate explained to him that his offenses carry prison time and not fines, he changed his plea to not guilty.
Bail was denied and Williams was remanded to the Belize Central Prison until June 19.
