Burrell Boom man dies after motorcycle tire blows out on highway

By Aaron Humes: 32-year-old Leonel Cabanas of Burrell Boom, Belize District, is the latest victim of a motorcycle accident early this morning on the Philip Goldson Highway.

According to police, officers and a BERT ambulance responded to a scene between Miles 13 and 14 just after 2:30 this morning where a man later identified as Cabanas was found on the left side of the road.

Investigation shows that Cabanas was traveling toward Burrell Boom from Ladyville on a Pulsar motorcycle when its front tire blew out. He lost control and was flung off the motorcycle into some stones on the road side and died almost on impact.

Police are now further investigating.
