By Aaron Humes: 33-year-old Ronlee Petillo and 21-year-old Alyon Domingo appear to have been caught up in an “internal” gang-related feud that led to their being shot on Saturday night.
Petillo, Domingo, and others were at a yard on Amara Avenue when a single armed man approached and opened fire on them, though we are told another person may have been the target.
The two were treated in hospital and released and are cooperating with police, Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of Eastern Division, Hilberto Romero, told reporters today.
“We have several things that we have put into place regarding this incident, to prevent any sort of retaliation or escalation of any violence,” he stated, noting that members from this area are participating with the Leadership Intervention Unit (LIU).
Petillo is out on bail on unrelated charges relating to an alleged rape and subsequent aggravated assault. Several persons have been detained for questioning as part of continuing police investigations.
