No sign of drugs or bodies from suspected burned drug plane as police continue hunt

By Aaron Humes: Drug traffickers left little behind, least of all their precious cargo, in the case of the latest landed drug plane in Belizean territory, which was finally discovered a week after it first appeared on local radar.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Hilberto Romero, Officer Commanding Eastern Division, told reporters that a remote area between Corazon Creek and Otoxha village was searched thoroughly on Sunday, and that other than the burned twin-engine aircraft and the makeshift airstrip it was to have landed on, there was no sign of drugs, or human remains as previously reported. It was not immediately clear what was the level of cargo on board the plane at the time it landed.

Police continue their investigations and we were told there was not much to go on in terms of whether any Belizeans from surrounding villages assisted in the operation.
